Spring 2027 Classes
Homeschool TheatreLab: Make a Musical
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE! APPLICATIONS DUE NOVEMBER 15!
Students will work together to develop an entirely original story using three songs from existing musicals as the foundation. Through hands-on theatre-making, students will learn the building blocks of effective storytelling, including plot structure, character development, conflict, pacing, theme, and how to create a story that keeps an audience engaged. Rather than simply performing a pre-written show, students will become the writers, storytellers, and creators of their own production. They will collaborate throughout the semester to develop a plot, determine how songs fit into their story, create characters and scenes, and shape their ideas in a cohesive theatrical experience. The semester will culminate in two public performances of the students’ original musical!
Designed for homeschool students in middle and high school, this class is a great opportunity for students who love theatre, storytelling, writing, collaboration, and creating something from the ground up.
